SEOUL (KBL) - Sonic Boom KT moved two wins clear of their closest rivals by beating Incheon ET Land Elephants 86-77 at home on Wednesday and ending the visitors four-game winning streak.
The Elephants (27-12) held on to second place in the standings despite the defeat without much discomfort. The next best placed team – and incidentally the Elephants opponents in their next game – Dongbu Promy have only 24 wins after their 76-67 home success against defending KBL champions Mobis Phoebus.
In other action, KCC Egis took sole possession of fourth place with a hard-fought 83-81 away win over LG Sakers and SK Knights dropped a game against bottom placed Anyang KGC going down 66-81 at home.
Park Sang-oh (pictured) led Sonic Boom (29-11) with a game-high 24 points against the Elephants. Fellow countryman Cho Sung-min added 16 points on five of six shooting from the field and handed out three assists.
American Jasper Johnson scored 15 points and recorded five steals.
Herbet Hill and Seo Jang-hoon shared the scoring honors for the Elephants with 16 points each. Jarod Stevenson collected 9 rebounds to go with his dozen points.
