SEOUL (KBL) - Dongbu Promy extended their winning streak to five games with a win over league leaders Sonic Boom KT 69-67 at home on Sunday, but that had no baring on the standings.
Incheon ET Land Elephants hung on to second place, ahead of Dongbu, with an impressive 88-82 defeat of LG Sakers.
Guard Hwang Jin-won was the surprise leader in Dongbu’s defeat of Sonic Boom, finishing with 18 points. American Rod Benson (pictured) had 14 points and 9 rebounds.
Another American, Jasper Johnson, had a game-high 30 points for Sonic Boom, but in a losing effort.
Meanwhile, Jarod Stevenson’s 21 points and seven rebounds led the Elephants’ win. Seo Hang-hoon contributed 24 points.
Guard Hyun-Soo Byun paced the Sakers with 23 points and handed out six assists.
Sakers had beaten Anyang KGC 78-65 on Saturday.
In other action, Daegu Orions had a mixed weekend – beating Mobis Phoebus 76-69 on Sunday but losing to Samsung Thunders 70-72 a day earlier.
