    KEN - Kenyan women and Egyptian men book All Africa Games ticket

    NAIROBI (All Africa Games) - Kenya women and Egypt men easily booked their tickets to the 9th All Africa Games in Algeria when they posted wins over Rwanda and Kenya respectively. Kenya whacked home team 95-38 while the Egyptians also made it with a 92-71 win over Kenya during elimination matches played at Amahor Petit Stadium

    NAIROBI (All Africa Games) - Kenya women and Egypt men easily booked their tickets to the 9th All Africa Games in Algeria when they posted wins over Rwanda and Kenya respectively.

    Kenya whacked home team 95-38 while the Egyptians also made it with a 92-71 win over Kenya during elimination matches played at Amahor Petit Stadium.

    Kenya led 19-4, 19-14 in the first two quarter then iced the win with 23-8 and 34-2 margin in te last two quarters.

    The Kenyan girls remained unbeaten in four games against Burundi and Rwanda where they posted a combined score of 374 against 138.

    Kenya sunk a record nine three pointers in this win. Leading a balanced attack was guard Rebecca Sarange who led the way with 17 points including 3 three pointers.

    Achieng shot 15, Gladys Wanyama named MVP and top scorer of the show made 14 as did Milicent Anyango while Eunice Ouma contributed 14.

    Kenya's loss to Egypt means that they will not only miss the Algeria show in July but also an all expense paid trip to Angola for the Africa Masculine championships latter in the year.

    Egypt, who shot 10 three pointers in the duel, led 49-28 lead at the break.In the third quarter, Egypt's Rammy Gennedy, Wael Badr, Ahmed Moneer, Ahmed Kaleed
    and Mohammed Kerdany, gave their team a 60-28 advantage.

    Dan Okwirri led Kenya wit 21 points while Ochieng shot 16 and Ben Oluoch 11. Egypt had 18 from Moneer 16 and Geneddy 15 from Badr.

    Rwanda struggled before beating Burundi 70-55 in the last fixture of the event. Watched by a sell out crowd that included Minister for Health, the home side did
    not wineasily.

    Burundi posed all sorts of problems before eventually succumbing. Rwanda's center Thomspon Robert hit the shot of the tournament hauling a long ranger stunned that touched nothing but net.

    He beat the buzzer with a shot from his own three point circle for a 50-39 lead. This magical shot enjoyed by the home fans and others alike, gave him a one minute standng ovation from all including the dignitaries.

    Earlier Rwanda women's team were shell shocked when they were humiliated infront of all with a 46-67 loss. A totak of five men and three womsn's team took part
    in the championships.
