KEN - Co-op return to action as Queens confront Storms in weekend show

NYAYO (premier league) - Regional champions Co-operative Bank of Kenya take on lowly Lomboritz in a premier league show at Nyayo National Stadium gymnasium this afternoon.

The bankers, who lost 70-65 to Strathmore University a few weeks ago are expected to be back to full strength in this tie. Allan Ouma, Richard Osano and Moses Kamau will show leadership as Lomboritz rely on Rogers Magati, Eric Etemesi and Melvin Oketch.

Eagle Wings, who have also not been in action for sometime now play Kenya College of Accountancy (KCA) University in a game they too should win with consumate ease. Anastasia Njeri and Caroline Achieng will meet the students Monica Odhiambo.

Posta, who crushed 84-91 to Strathmore return to the same court one week latter to confront bottom club University of Nairobi "Terrorists" without the services of their long serving coach Ronny Owino who is in Malawi conducting a Fiba Africa coaching clinics.

Franklin Delano, Willian Otieno and Kevin Samora must lift up their game if they are to take maximum points from this tricky tie as the campus lads led by Rodney Genga will come out with guns blazing looking for their first win.

Eastern Queens, the only side in the top league who have yet to lose a game this season following their 68-45 drubbing of national women champions Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) have a date with Sprite Storms.

Hilda Luvandwa, Irene Makori, Linda Alando and Emma Nyakweba all played for Storms before moving to new side Queens. They will be closely watched as they torment their old club who have only one star left in Angela Luchivya.

In the lower divison, Parklands Baptists meet Africa Nazarene University (ANU) who are back from college holidays this morning while Radhi Ndalu will strengthen Nairobi Pentecostal Church (NPC) against Mennonites two hours latter.

The Nairobi Basketball Association (NBA) provincial league matches will be on card at the Railways Club as teams look battle to make the eight team play offs coming up in earnest next month.
