NAIROBI (Premier League) - Former national champions Co-operative Bank of Kenya hit University of Nairobi "Terrorists" 80-71 in an exiting premier league clash at the Nyayo National Stadium gymnasium.
The bankers trailed 18-16 in the first quarter before they recovered to take the second 23-16. UoN led by the enterprising Mike Opinya regained the edge after the break with a 16-13 edge before collapsing in the fourth 28-21.
Cliff Ochieng led the tally with 14 points, Johnson Karonji made 11 while George Kamau chipped in with 10. But the day belonged to the students hit man Opinya who glided for game high 38 points.
Sprite Storms led 25-13 at the breatheer and went on to wrecked Yana 58-32 in a ladies show. Brenda pdua regsiterd 18 points while Irene Makori contributed 19 in this one sided win. The gripless Yana had earlier lost 43-41 to Strathmore University.
In Mombasa, Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) posted the highest scored this year when they ghumiliated Kisumu lakeside 115-40. Musa Odari shot 22 points and Mike Opel 14. Joshua Orwe bagged the visitors 10 who blamed fatigue for their loss.
