It was a sad weekend for the campus lads who the previous day had gone down 48-50 to Kenya College of Accoutacy (KCA) University in a closely fought duel. UoN trailed the marauding Lions 14-33 at the break and never recovered.
Clutch scorer Tobias Onyango and new catch Roy Kahure superbly led the KCB scoring tally as they showed with 18 points a piece in this rout. Hillary Kubai was the students toast sinking 10 points in a losing fight. Lions now have 18 points.
International Christian Center (ICC) briefly led the men's table hitting Lomboritz 66-57 as James Omune made 15 and Dominic Shitanda scored 15. The win saw them jump over Posta with 19 points. Charles Kituyi bagged the losers 13.
Paul Nyakinda scored game high 21 points and Cliffton Odhiambo added another 14 to guide Strathmore University Blades to a close 74-71 win over Blazers who had much improved Joel Atebe and Ken Keya combining for 12 points.
Kenya College of Accountancy (KCA) University hit University of Nairobi "Terrorists" 50-48 in a closely fought tie. KCA led 27-24 and had Gerald Mwangi and Alphonce Muchiri to thank with 12 points apiece. UoN had 11 from Sammy Kiria
Yana also reclaimed the top spot in the women's category with an easy 98-39 whitewash of bottom club Predators. Linda Alando and Pamella Sinda notched 12 points each for the winners who have bagged 15 points and lead champions Eagle Wings who have a point less. On the loosing team, Caroline Achieng hit 15.
Reigning champions Eagle Wings flew all over Sprite Storms humiliating them 62-27 in a one side premier league women show that saw the sad Storms fail to hit the target in the second quarter.
The winners, who shot to the top of the table with 14 points, led 33-13 at the break and never looked back. Anastasia Njeri scored 13 points while Caroline Achieng and Bridgit Nanzala made 10 each. Storms had 13 from Sylvia Omollo.
Faith Owich was good for 15 points while Denise Apondi made 11 as Strathmore University thrashed KCA 51-20. The Swords were up 26-11 at the breather and tormented their rivals with ease.
