    BRNO (Czechia) - Day two of the FIBA U17 Women's Basketball World Cup 2026 in Brno delivered in a big way and that included a glut of players all putting on a blockbuster show for their respective teams.

    Hanyun Sun of China came to play for her team with a super showing in their outstanding 79-54 success against Germany. She contributed an all-action 26 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists.

    Ivanna Wilson Manyacka had to come up with the goods once again for USA as they dodged a bullet by easing out Australia 74-72 in an absorbing matchup. Their star baller weighed in with a double-double, collecting 14 points and 11 rebounds, as well as 3 steals.

    Veronika Ferjancic couldn't prevent Slovenia from crashing 89-59 against a vibrant Japan. She shone with an excellent 17 points and 13 rebounds, as well as 3 assists.

    But Japan had far too much, including a typically classy effort from Miya Takeuchi who added 17 points, 5 assists and 2 steals to inspire victory.

    There was also a big contribution from Diocelin Zuniga Hurtado of Colombia who got through some great work to help her nation record only their second ever U17 success. They beat Czechia 52-46 with the forward claiming 7 points, a huge 13 rebounds, plus a precious 3 steals.
