TOKYO (FIBA Asia Championship) - Japan’s men’s national team will take part in a charitable three-game exhibition series against top German club S Oliver Baskets of Wurzburg later this month.
The series is expected to serve a dual purpose with the proceeds going to the earthquake victims, while also providing Thomas Wisman’s squad some much-needed practice against European opposition as they prepare for the FIBA Asia Championship that will be held in Wuhan, China between 15 and 25 September.
Wisman has already said that he would use different rotations in the three games.
The first game is scheduled for 30 June in Okayama. Fukurui will host the second on 2 July with the third and final one in Yoyogi a day later.
Japan qualified for the FIBA Asia Championship after finishing second to Korea in the recently-concluded East Asia Championship in Nanjing, China.
