AMMAN (Jordanian Premier League) - Al Riyadi Aramex regained their lead in the Jordanian Premier League Finals against Applied Science University after winning Game 3 70-68 after overtime on Monday.
Aramex had won Game 1 of the best-of-five series, but ASU bounced back to win 79-69 last Saturday to tie things up at 1-1.
Game 4 is on Friday.
Aramex controlled the proceedings early on Monday, leading 18-14 at the end of first quarter and stretching that advantage to 33-28 by halftime.
Thanks to Jordan international Mousa Al Awadhi’s prolific scoring, ASU not only bounced back but also moved in front 53-46 in the third quarter, before Aramex rallied to tie the score at 62-62 at the end of regulation period.
Saif Amer knocked down a three-pointer to open the scoring in the extra session for Aramex and Issa Kamel followed it up with a drive to the basket as they maintained their edge until the end.
Kamel (picture) finished with 21 points to lead Aramex, while Malek Kashan contributed 18 points and Ali Jamal 16.
Al Awadhi led all scorers with 29 points for ASU.
