    AMMAN (Jordanian Premier League) - Al Riyadi Aramex kept their more fancied rivals under a tight leash and won 91-81 to draw first blood in the Jordanian Premier League championship series against Applied Science University on Wednesday.

    Aramex got off to a quick start and were up 22-11 at the end of the first quarter. They held on to the momentum to lead 42-32 at halftime.

    ASU staged a minor rally in the third quarter, getting within 62-60 but Aramex proved too smart to squander the early advantage.

    Game 2 is on Saturday.
