JAMAICA (Olympic Solidarity Basketball Coaching Clinic) - The Olympic Solidarity Basketball Coaching Clinic Level 3 (advanced) was held from November 20 to 24, 2006. The expert was M. Nelson Isley (USA).

There were 24 pre-registered and 18 certified coaches attending the course. The course was held in English. The topics that were discussed were: Coach- Teacher relationship; Zone Attack; Basketball fundamental movement skills; Transition; Defensive drills; Competition Coaching; Physical preparation.

Everything was very well organized; all the necessary equipment was available. There were two young teams (U17 and U19) assisting the coach. The participants were very attentive and took part in the practical work.

Coach Isley said: “I do feel that over the last 10 years I have been involved in the Olympic Solidarity courses the Local federation is doing a better job every time. I would say however having only 5 days for a level 3 clinic was not enough time. A minimum of 7 days would be better”.
