TREVISO (Lega A) - Benetton Treviso claimed an 85-77 victory in the opening game of the best-of-five play-off semi-final against Lottomatica Roma.
Ramunas Siskauskas scored 16 points to lead six Benetton players in double figures, negating the loss of Italy international Matteo Soragna who will miss the rest of the season after sustaining an injury in the quarter-final series victory over Armani Jeans Milano.
Benetton finished second to Climamio Bologna in the regular-season standings.
This year they have been coached by David Blatt who replaced Ettore Messina when he moved to CSKA Moscow.
But his team have barely missed a beat and they thoroughly dominated this game, leading from the ninth minute.
They were 50-33 up by half-time and then really turned on the style, opening up a 73-49 advantage with a little over 10 minutes left in the game.
In-demand Andrea Bargnani, who has been watched by the Toronto Raptors in recent games, had 13 points and eight rebounds for Benetton.
David Hawkins and Marko Tusek scored 19 each in the losing cause for Lottomatica.
