BRINDISI (Lega A) - Italian strugglers Enel Brindisi have bolstered their squad with the signing of American guard Cedric Jackson for the remainder of the campaign.
Brindisi are second bottom in Lega A with an 8-17 record but trail Angelico Biella (9-17) by a half game.
Jackson has been playing in America's NBDL with the Idaho Stampede, averaging 13.6 points per contest.
They have clashes remaining with Montepaschi Siena, Scavolini Pesaro, Benetton Treviso, Angelico Biella and Air Avellino.
Benett Cantu', meanwhile, have signed coach Andrea Trinchieri to an extension that will keep him in charge through the 2013-14 season.
Cantu' reached the final of the Coppa Italia and are second in the Lega A standings at 20-6 behind Montepaschi.
"The extension of the agreement with Andrew was the key aim of our future planning," said Bruno Arrigoni, Cantu's sports director.
"We believe him to be the reference point and the cornerstone of all our construction. "
