ROME (Lega A) - Italy international Massimo Bulleri helped Armani Jeans Milano knock Climamio Bologna off the top of the Lega A.

Bulleri, who is expected to be on the plane to Japan for this summer's FIBA World Championship, poured in eight points in the home side's 77-64 win.

It was a real team performance in which Preston Shumpert top scored with 17 points.

Climamio's defeat gave Benetton Treviso the chance to take over at the top but they needed two overtimes to do so.

They were locked at 76-76 in their visit to Bipop Carire Reggio Emilia but ran out 96-89 winners thanks to Ramunas Siskauskas' 25-point haul.

Benetton and Climamio are now level on 19 wins each.

Serbia and Montenegro star Dejan Bodiroga was unable to prevent Lottomatica Roma going down to a 75-67 shock home defeat to Angelico Biella.

Bodiroga, one of the heroes in his country's 2002 World Championship triumph, was the hosts' top scorer with 11 points.

But he was outshone by Damon Williams, who bagged 18 points for the visitors.

David Bluthenthal's 24-point haul helped move VidiVici Bologna within one win of top spot as Basket Livorno were dismissed 91-80.

Three more teams are in the same position, with Carpisa Napoli coming from 12 points behind at half-time to down Roseto Basket 76-70.

Snaidero Cucine Udine beat Whirlpool Varese 72-63, while Montepaschi Siena won 94-91 at Vertical Vision Cantu after one overtime.

Rock-bottom Viola Reggio Calabria came close to a rare victory but ultimately went down 87-85 to a Keith Carter-inspired Upea Capo d'Orlando.

One place above Viola, Air Avellino also lost, beaten 82-76 by Navigo.it Teramo, for whom Delonte Holland scored 26 points.
