ROME (Lega A) - Upea Capo d'Orlando showed their strong start to the Lega A campaign is no fluke by upsetting defending champions Benetton Treviso 83-72 at the Palaverde on Saturday night.

Alvin Young led the way for the visitors with 25 points on nine of 14 shooting from the floor, including one of three from the arc.

Benetton were in danger of getting blown out in the fourth quarter when a Young basket stretched his team’s lead to 69-54.

A Terrell Lyday three-pointer immediately followed, however, to spark a 9-0 Benetton run.

Reginald Freeman stopped the bleeding for Upea Capo d'Orlando (7-5), and a field goal from Herve Toure and two free throws from Young took the lead back to 75-63, and Giovanni Perdichizzi’s men stayed in control the rest of the way.

The win means Upea Capo d'Orlando leapfrog Benetton, who are also 7-5, into fourth place.

Saturday’s other game saw Siviglia Wear Teramo win at home over Legea Scafati, 92-80.

Anthony Grundy had 24 points to pace Teramo.
