    TEL AVIV (Basketball Super League) - Maccabi Tel Aviv survived in a 72-70 thriller against Altshular Shaham Gilboa/Galil on Tuesday night at the Nokia Arena to reach the title game at the Basketball Super League Final Four.

    Beaten to last year’s title by Hapoel Holon, Maccabi will take on Maccabi Haifa Heat in the championship after they prevailed 98-93 in overtime over Hapoel Migdal Jerusalem in Tuesday’s first semi.

    Maccabi Tel Aviv appeared to be in command with a 14-point advantage in the third quarter.

    Galil, coached by former Maccabi Tel Aviv boss Oded Kattash, stormed back and took a 63-62 lead when Isaiah Swann buried a three-pointer.

    Israel international Lior Eliyahu hit the go-ahead basket for Maccabi with under a minute to go and they held on for a narrow triumph.

    In Maccabi Haifa Heat’s victory, Davon Jefferson poured in 26 points.
