IRI – BA Shiraz edge thriller against strugglers Saman Bank

TEHRAN (Super League) - BA Shiraz piled on the misery for the last-place team in the Iranian Super League, Saman Bank, by winning their 15th round clash 78-76.

Shiraz, who were visitors, improved to 5-9 while Saman Bank fell to 1-14.

Sasa Zagorac poured in 24 points and Pierre Saint Preux 23 for the winners while Andre Smith had a game-high 29 in defeat.

Rah-o-Tarabari claimed an 80-70 victory over Shahrdari Gorga.

Waitari Marsh hit a pair of three-balls and finished with 21 points for the winning side, which is second in the standings at 11-4.

Shahrdari Gorgan are third-bottom of the league with a 4-10 mark.

Iranian giants Mahram stormed into a 19-0 lead at H.B. Shahrekurd and recorded an 86-65 victory.

Playing without the captain of the Iran national side at last year's FIBA World Championship, Mehdi Kamrani, Mahram still rolled to a big win.

Towzin Electric blew open a close game in the fourth quarter and claimed a 78-50 victory at Melli Haffari I.

Zlatko Jovanovic had 22 points, Vahid Hajian 20 and Nenad Misanovic 19 in the victory.

The Towzin lead was just 34-32 at half-time, 45-39 midway through the third quarter and 54-44 with 10 minutes remaining.

The visitors then outscored Ghaffor Kamrava's side 24-6 in the last frame for a convincing triumph that has left the team fourth in the standings at 10-5.

Haffari Melli Iran are second-bottom with a 4-10 record.
