    IND/UAE - India down UAE, avoid wooden spoon

    India defeated United Arab Emirates 82-77 in the play-off for the 15th position on Saturday. UAE shot ahead 22-20 in the first quarter and fought back 25-14 in the fourth, but in between India established advantages of 27-15 and 21-15 in the second and third to clinch the issue.

    TOKUSHIMA (FIBA Asia Championship) - India defeated United Arab Emirates 82-77 in the play-off for the 15th position on Saturday.

    UAE shot ahead 22-20 in the first quarter and fought back 25-14 in the fourth, but in between India established advantages of 27-15 and 21-15 in the second and third to clinch the issue.

    Trideep Rai led the Indian campaign with 23 points and four assists. For UAE, Ayoub Albalooshi was the leading scorer with 15.
