    Indonesia had finished 12th in the 2007 FIBA Asia Championship at Tokushima.

    Sri Lanka, making a return to the FIBA Asia Championship after 14 years – they finished 19th in the 1995 edition at Seoul – ended with the wooden spoon.

    Ary Chandra returned a game-high 19 points for Indonesia and Erick Sebayang contributed 15.

    Pushpakumara was the highest scorer for Sri Lanka with 12 points.
