IBL performed since 2003 with first director Ary Arsanto Sudarsono. Because castigated varous case, including debt of 700 milion Indonesian Rupiah to Indonesian Olympic Council (KONI Pusat), Ary step down at 2004 and replaced by Agus Mauro.
Indonesian Basketball Association (PB Perbasi) proposed director position changed by promotor with purpose to get financial advantage. Director IBL elected by Board of Commisioner who have 10 members from IBL team, and one from PB Perbasi.
Board of Commisioner gave first opportunity to Agus became promotor fulfilled nominal amount which determined. But Agus feel cannot fulfill and choose retired offered as promotor. "I will lose if fulfilling that amount. Gave opportunity passed to others," added Agus.
As a director, Agus conduct development with playing IBL games out of Java Island. Java Island is central of basketball excellence in Indonesia. He also made good relationship with Philippines Basketball Profesional League (PBA) to improve the quality of IBL games.
"I love basketball very much. I try do the best for sports that I loved," said Agus.
Head of PB Perbasi, Erick Thohir, surprised with Agus decision. "I’m very surprised with his decision," said Erick. Although have walked three years, IBL still lose. That is why there is proposal changed director with promotor.
