ULAANBAATAR (Mongolia) – There could hardly have been a more fitting ending to the landmark 100th edition of the FIBA 3x3 Women's Series.
Backed by a passionate home crowd, top seeds Ulaanbaatar Amazons (MGL) captured the FIBA 3x3 Women's Series Ulaanbaatar 2026 crown after edging Germany (GER) 19-18 in a thrilling Final.
It marked a memorable triumph for the hosts, who completed an unbeaten campaign on home soil while delivering a storybook finish to the historic milestone event.
The Final
The battle for first place lived up to expectations as two of the tournament's most dominant teams battled possession for possession.
Neither side could create much separation early before Ulaanbaatar Amazons found their rhythm midway through the contest, opening a 10-5 advantage behind the inside presence of Amari Robinson and timely shooting from Kayleigh Truong.
Germany refused to go away, clawing back to level the game at 15-15 with under two minutes remaining. Truong responded with a clutch two-pointer before Robinson answered another German basket to keep the hosts in front.
Ariuntsetseg Bat-Erdene then delivered what proved to be the decisive putback to make it 19-16. Marie Reichert buried a late two-pointer to pull Germany within one, but the clock expired before the visitors could complete the comeback as Ulaanbaatar Amazons sealed an unforgettable home victory.
Road to the Final
Ulaanbaatar Amazons looked every bit the title favorites throughout the weekend, sweeping Pool A with convincing wins over Singapore and Thailand before defeating France U25 19-12 in the Quarter-Finals. The hosts then produced a statement performance in the Semi-Finals, pulling away from China for a 21-15 victory behind nine points from Truong to book their place in the championship game.
Germany were equally impressive, topping Pool B before cruising past Manila 20-5 in the Quarter-Finals and dismantling previously unbeaten Japan 21-8 in the Semi-Finals to set up a blockbuster showdown.
One of the tournament's biggest stories came from Manila, who battled through the Qualifying Draw, stunned Mongolia in pool play and reached the Quarter-Finals before their memorable run ended against Germany.
