BANGKOK (Thailand) - Hi-Tech Basketball Club bounced back to beat Adroit 96-76 to pull the curtains down on the Bangkok windows of the Basketball Champions League Asia-East (BCL Asia-East) 2025, Wednesday at the Nimibutr Stadium.
The home team took control early on thanks to the solid inside play of Thai national team standout Chanatip Jakrawan. The big man already reached double-digit scoring within the first five minutes of the game, outscoring Adroit by himself throughout most of the first quarter. He'd finish the game with 16 points and 8 rebounds.
Adroit showed some life with a sequence including a dunk and and-one by Ihor Serheiev, getting the Singaporean club back to within as close as 3 points just before the half.
Coach Lertlaokul brought back his trusted twin towers concept of Jakrawan and Emmanuel Ejesu to start the second half which proved to be effective as Hi-Tech quickly expanded the gap back to double-digits. Ejesu sat out the entire first half, but when called upon, he was difficult to stop.
A few more mini-runs by Adroit cut Hi-Tech's lead down to just 3 points towards the end of the third quarter. However, once again, big shots by Hitech keep their lead at a safe distance. Frederick Lee Jones Lish (18 points) and Michael Singletary (14 points) heated up in the final interval, making sure Adroit did not have another run left in them before the final buzzer.
Moses Morgan was a stand-out all-around performer for Hi-Tech with 14 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals.
Hi-Tech's next game, and last game of the Group Phase, will be on Thursday, May 15 against the Broncos in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia at 8:30 PM (local time).
Adroit had their highest scoring game so far in BCL Asia-East with four players reaching double-digits in scoring. Pryimak had 17 points and 8 rebounds.
Adroit will have one final chance to salvage a win in this BCL Asia-East season when they also travel to Mongolia to face the Broncos on Wednesday, May 14 at 8:30 PM (local time).
