PRAGUE (Czechia) - Ludde Hakanson broke his own FIBA Basketball World Cup Qualifiers record for most assists in a single game with 15.
Czechia defeated Sweden 97-80 to open up proceedings in Group H, but the visitors' game revolved around their indestructible leader. Hakanson pulled all the strings offensively, finishing the game with 15 points and 15 assists.
The 29-year-old also set the previous mark of 14 against Slovenia in 2021, also played on November 28.
In fact, it is Slovenia that Hakanson and Sweden will take on next, on Monday in Gothenburg.
Other players who had 14 assists in a single game: Germany's Justus Hollatz, against Finland in 2023; Jordan's Freddy Ibrahim, against New Zealand in 2022; and Mexico's Paul Stoll, against Puerto Rico in 2021.
