Flying straight to the Round of 16

Dreamland Gran Canaria became only the third team to win their first six BCL games.

MIES (Switzerland) - The Spanish clubs have always been a force to be reckoned with in the Basketball Champions League, powered by Ameresco SUNEL.

Dreamland Gran Canaria just continued that tradition, sweeping Group H in their first ever season in this competition.

Meanwhile, Le Mans Sarthe Basket claimed the last ticket to the next round from this pool.

Dreamland Gran Canaria 87-63 SL Benfica

Besiktas in 2016, Virtus Bologna in 2019, and now, Dreamland Gran Canaria in 2025.

The newcomers from Spain became only the third team to win their first six games in BCL history, and they have done it with a +93 points difference, too.

The Portuguese champions were hanging on until halftime, but coach Jaka Lakovic figured out the defensive part of the assignment, and his men allowed just 28 points after the break.

"I want to congratulate the team and the club. You know, to make one line in the history books, as we are the third club in history as a debutant to finish the first round 6-0," coach Lakovic was aware of the record books.

"As a coach who is fully focused on the process of the team, it's not so important but we have to appreciate, we have to be proud of the things Gran Canaria is doing on the European scene."

All 12 players saw action against Benfica, with Nicolas Brussino continuing his fine run, collecting a team-high 16 points in 20 minutes. Mike Tobey had 13, Kur Kuath and Isaiah Wong added 10 each.

Koby McEwan scored 12 for Benfica, but they finish their run at 1-5 this season.

Le Mans Sarthe Basket 76-61 Spartak Office Shoes

With Benfica losing, Le Mans would've advanced even in defeat, but they decided to celebrate a win in front of their fans, taking down one of the feel-good stories of the season in Spartak.

The French team scored 32 points in the third quarter alone, which felt like 50 in such a low scoring affair.

Trevor Hudgins scored 15 points, Johnny Berhanemeskel knocked down four threes for 13 points, while David DiLeo finished with 11 on the day.

Honorable mention: 2008-born Swann Penda, scoring a free throw in his first four minutes in the BCL, and 2007-born Bastien Grasshoff, finishing with 6 points in 16 minutes.

Former Le Mans player Olivier Hanlan was the best player for Spartak, scoring 16 in his return to the city.

Spartak finish the Group Phase in second spot, and they will have home-court advantage in the Play-Ins against Karditsa Iaponiki.

Le Mans will have to win at least one game in Türkiye as they take on Mersin Sports Club next.
