Wurzburg figured out a way to defeat Trieste on the road

Galatasaray MCT Technic had already secured the Round of 16 ticket from this pool, but there was a real battle for the second spot in the group.

MIES (Switzerland) - Since the start of the Basketball Champions League, powered by Ameresco SUNEL, no team has scored more points in a single calendar year than Galatasaray MCT Technic in 2025.

The reigning runners-up broke AEK's mark of 1638 points scored in 2018, raising the bar all the way to 1657 points.

While Galatasaray cruised towards the Round of 16, Pallacanestro Trieste hosted Fitness First Wurzburg Baskets in the battle for home-court advantage in the Play-Ins.

A close group like this one deserved a sprint to the finish line. Wurzburg owned a 15-point advantage from the first matchup in Germany, but they weren't going to settle for a defeat.

Instead, they stormed out of the gates to make it a one-way street in Italy. Charles Thompson explained how, after delivering 13 points and 7 rebounds.

"I was really proud of the way we came out. We had a lot of energy. You know, we've been preparing for this game for about a week, so it was good to see and good to get our last Basketball Champions League win."

Trieste were in front for just a couple of minutes to start the game, but without Mady Sissoko, it was always going to be an uphill battle.

Brae Ivey was the top scorer for Wurzburg with 16 points and 6 assists, Davion Mintz had 15, while Marcus Carr orchestrated the offense with 11 points and 7 assists.

Colbey Ross had a team-high 17 for Trieste.

With this result, Fitness First Wurzburg Baskets earned home court advantage in the Play-Ins, where they'll take on Slovak champions Patrioti Levice.

Pallacanestro Trieste head into the Play-Ins knowing they will have to win at least one game on the road in Hungary, facing another domestic champion in NHSZ-Szolnoki Olajbanyasz.

Igokea m:tel 65-82 Galatasaray MCT Technic

With Igokea already out and Galatasaray locked in at the top of the group, the intensity of this matchup was never going to be high.

However, both teams played hard to try and close the calendar year on a positive note. Galatasaray took care of business to avoid back-to-back defeats and set a new mark for most points in a single BCL calendar year.

Bugrahan Tuncer had 16 points and 5 assists to lead the way, Fabian White Jr finished with 13, and John Meeks added 11 off the bench.

Marko Jeremic and Javon Bess scored 14 each, but the road ends here for the Bosnia and Herzegovina champions.
