ABIDJAN (Cote d'Ivoire) - With the 2025 Women's Basketball League Africa (WBLA) due to take place in Egypt in December, the first four teams are preparing to begin their journey towards the final round.
It's WBLA qualifier time!
From Sunday 19 to Tuesday 21 October, Kinshasa, the capital city of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, will host the WBLA qualifiers.
Four teams from FIBA Africa Zone 4 will compete for a place in the Egyptian capital city, Cairo.
The contenders are ASB Makomeno and CNSS from DR Congo, and Cameroonian sides FAP and Overdose Upstation.
The teams that finish first and second in the regional tournament will automatically qualify for the 2025 WBLA final.
Last year, Congolese teams ASB Makomeno and CNSS secured the two places on offer to Zone 4 teams by finishing first and second respectively.
All 2025 WBLA qualifiers game will be streamed live on FIBA's YouTube Chanel.
Representative teams from FIBA Africa Zones 1, 2, 3, 5, 6 and 7 will compete in the WBLA qualifiers, which resume later this month.
In the 2024 WBLA Final, Mozambique's Ferroviario de Maputo defeated Egypt's Al Ahly SC to become the second team to win the WBLA since its rebranding in 2023.
