PESCARA (Mediterranean Games) - Greece, Italy, Turkey and Croatia stormed into the last four at the Mediterranean Games with victories on Wednesday in Pescara.
The Greeks thumped Montenegro 85-67 with Igor Milosevits and Alexandros Kyritsis each scoring 18 points, Dimitrios Mavroeidis 15 and Nikolaos Papanikolaou 14.
In defeat for the Montenegrins, captain Sead Sehovic poured in 16 points and Nikola Vucevic had 13.
Greece will now take on Turkey, who remained undefeated with an 88-67 demolition of Morocco.
The Turks, 24 hours after their triple overtime win over hosts Italy, faced a 22-17 deficit at the end of the opening quarter but then outscored the north Africans 27-11 over the next 10 minutes for a 44-33 lead at half-time.
They pressed home the advantage the rest of the way.
Younes Idrissi had a game-high 22 points in defeat for Morocco, while Yunus Canikaya scored 18 for Turkey.
Italy and Croatia also claimed victories and will face each other in the other Semi-Final.
Carlo Recalcati's Azzurri defeated Serbia 75-64.
The game was knotted at 36-36 at half-time but the Italians then took command by outscoring their opponents 23-12 in the third quarter.
Luigi Datome, who played for Italy at the EuroBasket in Spain two years ago, finished with 18 points, Pietro Aradori 17 and Federico Bozonella 15.
Croatia, who are being coached by Josip Vrankovic, encountered early resistance from Albania in their last-eight clash but ended up pulling away in the second half for a 94-70 win.
Trailing 27-23 after the first quarter, the Croatians outscored Albania 23-12 in the next frame for a 46-39 lead and then blew their opponents out the rest of the way.
Damir Rancic had 19 points to lead a balanced Croatia scoring attack.
The Semi-Finals will be staged on Thursday.
