ATHENS (Euroleague) - Greece international Dimos Dikoudis has returned home and signed with Panionios OT after parting with Pamesa Valencia.

Dikoudis, a silver-medal winner with the Greeks at the 2006 FIBA World Championship, left Spain at the same time Pamesa was deciding to go separate ways with his countryman, coach Fotis Katsikaris.

He had other offers on the table but chose Panionios.

"The first reason was that I wanted to return to Greece,” he said.

"The second was the offer from Panionios, which is a historic and serious club.

"This year the team is very good and most importantly, what motivated me was of course the fact that the team plays in the Euroleague.

"I think that Panionios has the makings of being one of the top teams in Greece."

He bolsters the frontcourt of a Panionios outfit that has won two of its five Euroleague games.

Dikoudis did not play in their last game in Greece’s top flight, a 90-81 defeat at Trikala.

The 31-year-old Dikoudis decided not to play for the national team this year and missed out on taking part at the Olympics.
