ATHENS (A1 Ethniki) - Panellinios stayed alive in the battle for third place in Greece with a 97-78 drubbing of Maroussi in Game 3.

Roderick Blakney made all six of his shots from long range in a 37-point explosion for Panellinios, who cruised.

Ilias Zouros’ men got on top of their opponents early and led 29-17 at the end of the first quarter.

They were in command the rest of the way.

Panellinios made it to the Eurocup Final Four and Zouros was even named Coach of the Year in that competition.

Maroussi also made a lot of headlines this year in the Euroleague, only narrowly missing out on a place in the quarter-finals.

Panathinaikos, meanwhile, are not expected to have Greece international Vassilis Spanoulis for Game 3 of the A1 Ethniki finals because of the hip injury he picked up in the Greens’ defeat to Olympiacos on Sunday which left the series knotted a 1-1.
