ATHENS (A1 Ethniki) – The season hadn’t been too kind for AEK Athens as they headed into their weekend clash with Ilisiakos.
Lamont Mack made sure he and his teammates enjoyed themselves.
Mack was named Player of the Week in the A1 Ethniki after firing AEK to a 97-74 victory.
The American had 19 points, 10 rebounds and five steals to give struggling AEK just their second triumph in five games.
"I thank my teammates because everyone gave 100% in this game,” Mack said.
"But I want to keep a low profile for me and the whole team.
“I firmly believe that with time, patience and hard work will ultimately vindicate us."
Panathinaikos and Olympiacos remained unbeaten in Greece after beating Kavala and Maroussi, respectively.
Both Pana and Olympiacos are in action in the Euroleague this week.
The Greens are at home to Power Electronics Valencia on Thursday and Olympiacos visit Real Madrid.
