MUNICH (Germany) - Germany fought back to beat Türkiye 73-71 in a thrilling FIBA EuroBasket 2025 tune-up to keep the world champions undefeated in the preparations.
The Germans trailed by 10 points in the opening stages of the second half but ended up prevailing in the SuperCup in Munich thanks to Dennis Schroder collecting 22 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Germany moved to 3-0 in EuroBasket warm-ups.
Germany struggled for most of the game when their captain Schroder was not on the floor and they played much better in the second half. The world champs shot just 30 percent in the first half but managed to execute better after the break.
Türkiye fell to 0-2 as Shane Larkin missed a three-pointer and Ercan Osmani a putback in the final seconds.
Top performers: Besides Schroder's 22 points, Franz Wagner added 17 points and Justus Hollatz chipped in 10 points and 5 rebounds as he fights for a final point guard spot on Alex Mumbru's team.
Alperen Sengun starred for the Turks with 25 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists while Cedi Osman scored 15 points and Adem Bona tallied 7 points and 5 blocks in the loss. Up next: Germany and Türkiye will both return to action on Saturday in Munich in the second and final day of the SuperCup. Germany will face the winner of the game later Friday between Serbia and Czechia and Türkiye will take on the loser of that game.
