BRAUNSCHWEIG (Beko Basketball Bundesliga) - Brose Baskets Bamberg have taken a stranglehold on their play-off semi-final against New Yorker Phantoms Braunschweig after winning Game 2, 82-73 to lead the best-of-five series 2-0.

Australia international Mark Worthington came up big for the winners scoring 16 points and grabbing nine rebounds as almost 6,000 spectators looked on.

The other last-four clash is tight following an 84-83 triumph for Deutsche Bank Skyliners over Eisbären Bremerhaven.

Aubrey Reese had 18 points for the winners, who took the lead for good midway through the fourth quarter at 68-67 on a basket by Quantez Robertson.

The Polars Bears kept the pressure on until the end.

Louis Campbell scored with six seconds remaining to close the gap to 82-80, and the visitors fouled Bamberg's Dragan Labovic.

He made both free-throws for a four-point lead before Andrew Drevo's three-ball at the end capped the scoring for Bremerhaven.
