BOLOGNA (Lega A) – Germany national team guard Pascal Roller connected on back-to-back three-pointers late in the third quarter to put Angelico Biella on their way to a 97-87 upset win at Virtus Bologna on Thursday. Game One of the best-of-five play-off quarter-final was closely fought but when Roller struck from long range with three minutes remaining in the third quarter, Biella took a 62-59 advantage.

Game One of the best-of-five play-off quarter-final was closely fought but when Roller struck from long range with three minutes remaining in the third quarter, Biella took a 62-59 advantage.
Andrea Crosariol made one of two free throws for Virtus immediately after, but Roller went back to the other end and launched another successful three-ball for a 65-61 edge.
Biella stayed in front the rest of the way and built a double-digit lead in the fourth quarter.
Roller finished with 15 points while Reece Gaines and Erik Daniels led the way with 20 for Biella.
The second game between these two sides is on May 20 at Biella.
