SOPRON (EuroBasket Women) - Either Hungary or Germany will claim the last spot on offer for the EuroBasket Women.

Both sides won on Tuesday to clinch first place in their respective groups in the Additional Qualifying Tournament (AQT) and will now meet in a two-game AQT Final showdown with a spot in the 16-team EuroBasket in Poland at stake.

Hungary improved to 4-0 in Group A of the AQT with a 71-57 victory in Sopron over Bulgaria.

"I'm proud of my team," Hungary coach Norbert Székely said.

"This was the most difficult game of this tournament. We changed our defense and it worked.

"These four games in five days were a miracle. We went through and we won't stop."

Zsófia Fegyverneky led the way with 16 points for Hungary but she says the key for her side is its ability to play lock-down defense.

"With our defense, I think we can compete with anybody in Europe," she said.

Germany, who had stunned Italy in front of their own fans on Sunday, improved to 3-1 with a 74-64 triumph over Serbia in Taranto.

Svenja Greunke, a 21-year-old power forward, had 16 points and eight rebounds.

"I'm very proud of my players because they are young," Germany coach Bastian Wernthaler said.

"I'm testing them day by day and they are surprising me."

Veteran shooting guard Sarah Austmann, a member of the national side that played at the EuroBasket Women four years ago in Chieti, Italy, finished with 15 points, six rebounds and three assists for Germany.
