BERLIN (BBL) - More than 100 German BBL league games will be shown live over the internet next season as part of a deal struck between the BBL and the internet sports provider www.sportdigital.tv on Tuesday.
The new bbl.tv site will begin airing games in October with two contests live each game-day.
An all-season pass is available for 49.50 euros with those ordering passes before August 15 receiving a discount. All games can also be viewed later on demand while individual contests can be ordered for 2.99 euros each.
"We are starting a new direction with bbl.tv. Not only will the more than 100 games give us the chance to provide interested TV channels with high-quality video material, but we also can offer fans more basketball than ever before," said BBL managing director Jan Pommer.
"Another advantage is the on-demand section. That gives the spectator chance to watch a game any time they want to."
Michael Lion, the former sports chief at German channels RTL and Sat.1, will head the team of 30 broadcasters.
