BAMBERG (Bundesliga) - Brose Baskets Bamberg and playmaker DeJuan Collins decided on Friday to part ways.

Collins joined the 2005 German champions this past off-season from Italian club Varese but was suspended indefinitely last week by Bamberg coach Dirk Bauermann for disciplinary reasons.

Bamberg are now on the market looking for a combo guard. It's doubtful they will find someone in time for Saturday's home game against Giessen 46ers.

Meanwhile, times continue to be turbulent at the 2005 semi-finalists from Giessen.

Just weeks after coach Stefan Koch was sacked, Christoph Berndt stepped down from his post as Giessen managing director in light of major struggles which have the club mired in the relegation zone with a 3-14 record.

"I'm convinced that the 46ers will bundle their efforts and things will soon settle down sports-wise and economically," said Berndt, who replaced Christian Maruschka to start this season and will succeeded by Dirk Schafer.
