FRANKFURT (BBL) - It was a long way to reach Frankfurt for Mike Bauer, but since yesterday it is sure that the power-forward will play on Sunday for the Deutsch Bank Skyliners in the german league against Oldenburg.

For his old club, the french Euroleague team of Pau-Orthez, the power-forward (2,03 m) played only in international games and sometimes in the french league when one of his american teammates was injured.

"Pau-Orthez was not a club for my personal situation. I like to play and I aim happy, that I found with the Deutsche Bank Skyliners my desired team. I am glad to be a part of the team that wanted to have me. I have the impression that my teammates already accepted me humanly and I would like to earn my place in the team".

"My first impression was, that Skyliners are a very talented team. What still must be improved is the team play. If we play for each other, then we still can achieve much in this season"

For his new coach Charles Barton, Mike Bauer was the desired hope and he praises him as a leadership player and a fighter nature. "He shall deliver much energy, the necessary rebounds, a couple of blocked throws and good throws to us. He is a player, who still stands at the beginning of his career and who can develop. We have long-dated plans with him".
