BONN (BBL) - Brose Baskets Bamberg, fresh off of winning the German Cup, got back to the business of cruising in the league as they beat Telekom Basket Bonn 94-81 on the road.
While they are already guaranteed of finishing first and having home court advantage during the defence of their title, Bamberg are not taking their foot off the accelerator and improved to 29-2 thanks to some balanced scoring.
Anton Gavel had 18 points, Casey Jacobsen added 17 and Predrag Suput chipped in with 15 as five players reached double-digits.
Bonn dropped to 14-17 following the loss and are 11th in the standings.
Meanwhile, Mitteldeutscher BC scored a crucial 83-76 home win over Artland Dragons to keep their hopes of staying up in the BBL alive. Their cause was well served by Radenko Pilcevic (19 points) and Velimir Radinovic (14 points). Artland suffered their second defeat in a row and are now two games adrift of Alba Berlin in the battle for third place.
Deutsche Bank Skyliners improved to 24-7 after beating TBB Trier 69-61 on the road, but did not do it the easy way.
The visitors came from behind, scoring 10 unanswered points to end the game and steal the win from the hosts.
