LONDON (FIBA) - It is with great sadness that FIBA learned of the passing away on Monday of Keith Mitchell OBE.
Dedicating much of his life to basketball both in England and internationally, Keith Mitchell was appreciated and respected by those fortunate enough to work with him.
A long time member of the FIBA Central Board, serving on the European Board and several other FIBA Commissions, Keith Mitchell was voted an Honorary Life Member of FIBA when his term of office ended in 2002. In 2006, he was awarded the FIBA Order of Merit for his exceptional services to the sport.
Mr. Elphinston, Mr. Stankovic and Mr. Baumann speak on behalf of FIBA in sending their condolences and deepest sympathy to his family and friends. He will be sorely missed.
