Emma Meesseman was unstoppable for Belgium against Japan

The third game day of action is in the books. Here is a list of the top performers.

LILLE (France) - The third gameday of the Women's Olympic Basketball Tournament Paris 2024 provided some amazing action and even more spectacular individual performances.

Let's look at the Top Performers of gameday 3.

Emma Meesseman put on her cape and became the Cats' super hero once again after being the inspiration for their amazing 27-point win against Japan. She torched the AKATSUKI JAPAN with a massive 30 points, bringing up a double-double with 11 rebounds and also blocking a brilliant 5 shots to make sure Belgium made in to Paris for the Quarter-Finals.

Elise Ramette might have had her performance overshadowed by the epic exploits of her teammate Emma Meesseman, but without this cameo from Ramette, it is doubtful the Cats would be heading to Paris for the Quarter-Finals. She took it to Japan in the backcourt and posted arguably her best game in a national team vest with 16 points, 4 assists and 3 rebounds.

Ezinne Kalu was the main architect of yet more history for Nigeria as they took down Canada to become the first African team in Olympic history, men or women, to make the Quarter-Finals. The guard was a constant thorn in the side of her opponents and leg D'Tigress with 21 points, 3 rebounds and 3 steals on the most memorable day they've ever had at the Games.

Sami Whitcomb has been in great form and continued in that same vein with another top effort for the Opals in their memorable success against hosts France. Her veteran experience and skills were central to the must-win encounter as she put up 12 points, 7 assists and 5 rebounds to take Australia into the last eight of the competition.

Jackie Young showcased the USA's depth in a big way as she went to work to make sure that her team captured the number one spot in Group C. She was the most impactful baller in the last group game against Germany as she netted 19 points and showed she has an appetite for work at both ends of the court by also adding 4 rebounds and 4 steals.
