IBIRAPUERA (2006 FIBA World Championships for Women) - She's always been good, but this is flat-out awesome.

Amaya Valdemoro had 39 points, six rebounds - arguably the best performance of the FIBA World Championship for Women so far - as Spain beat Lithuania 75-55 in the FIBA World Championship eight finals.

Lithuania led by as many as six points in the first half but they were undone near the end of the second quarter.

Spain scored six straight points to finish the second quarter, with Laia Palau's jump shot lifting them into a 33-32 lead.

Domingo Diaz's team continued the run after the restart, with Valdemoro and Lucila Pascua adding baskets to complete the 10-0 run and Spain were in command the rest of the way, leading 52-42 going into the final quarter.

Diana Razmaite top-scored for Lithuania but her haul of 15 points and five rebounds proved fruitless.
