    With both sides having been beaten soundly in their respective quarter-final, the French and  Czechs were consigned to the classification round.

    Jan Bobrovsky's team built a 35-28 advantage by half-time but France stormed back in the third quarter and led 41-34 going to the final quarter.

    The game was tied at  69-69 by the end of regulation and France won in the extra period.

    France also beat the Czechs in the teams' opening game.

    Losing coach Jan Bobrovsky said: "We lost for the second time to France in this tournament and we're not very happy, but today it was a matter of luck.

    "We don't have an inferior team. It was also our eighth game in the competition and we're a bit tired."
