TEAMS
France (men)
It was a hot start for the Paris Olympic silver medalists in Vienna as they got off to a 22 - 14 victory against Great Britain. Franck Seguela put up a game-high 9 while Raphael Wilson added 6, including the game-ending two.
They handled business in a marquee game against Latvia next to send them out of contention. Seguela and Wilson put up 8 each as they came away as winners, 21 - 15.
Spain (women)
Spain were on fire from the jump. They took on another Olympic side in Azerbaijan in their opener and made easy work of their opposition. A 20 - 12 win thanks to 9 points from Sandra Ygueravide and 7 from Vega Gimeno.
They defeated home side Austria next 20 - 14 with Ygueravide going off for a whopping 11 points.

A 2-0 pool play books their Quarter-final spot against Ukraine.
PLAYERS
Franck Seguela (FRA)
The frenchman Franck Seguela has been on-fire all year, and it was no different tonight. He put up 9 against Great Britain before adding 8 against Latvia, a dominant offensive display coupled with playmaking skills to set his team up.
France will need the Seguela show to continue in the knockout phase.

Sandra Ygueravide (ESP)
The Spanish icon put on a show as per usual in Vienna. A 9-point effort in the opener was followed up only by an incredible 11-point game from Ygueravide.
The talisman for Spain will be bringing her prowess to the knockout stage on Day 3.
Notable events
Great Britain (men) made history in Vienna as they picked up their first Europe Cup win in history, defeating the Latvian juggernauts. They will head to the quarter-finals action.

Switzerland (men) made waves as well as they went 2-0 in pool play, defeating contenders Lithuania in the opener before defeating Croatia to finish unbeaten.
France (women) bounced back from an Olympic tournament with a 2-0 pool play display. They defeated Italy and Ukraine to book their spot on day 3.

Olympic gold medalists will be in action as the Netherlands (men) and Germany (women) compete in pool play.
Reigning Europe Cup Gold medalists Serbia also aim to retain on Day 2.
