OAKLAND (NBA) - Golden State Warriors forward Mickael Pietrus is expected to be sidelined for a week after suffering a sprained left ankle in the first quarter of Friday's 118-96 loss to the Miami Heat.

The France international lasted just 28 seconds of the game before suffering the injury when Heat guard Dwyane Wade stepped on his foot. X-rays were negative.

"It's sore and a little stiff right now but it's not as bad as I first thought," Pietrus said.

"It's not as bad as the ankle injury I had during my rookie year. It should only be about a week until I return."

Pietrus is the Warriors' third-highest scorer this season with 14.2 points per game.
