PARIS (Nike Hoop Summit) - Evan Fournier has spoken about the opportunity to take part in the Nike Hoop Summit last weekend.
The Poitiers guard/forward, a potential France national team player of the future, had six points and six rebounds in the game for the World Team in their 90-78 defeat to the United States.
"It was a great experience and I enjoyed it, but I missed some shots and I lacked toughness,” the 18-year-old said.
“At least I know what I have to do."
Fournier followed in the footsteps of Tony Parker and Nicolas Batum, with both French internationals having played in the Hoop Summit in their youth.
Parker had 20 points and seven assists when he appeared in the game in 2000, and Batum went for 23 points in the 2007 event.
Fournier is also hoping to follow San Antonio Spurs point guard Parker and Portland forward Batum into the NBA one day.
The status of the former France U18 player is uncertain for his team's game against Strasbourg on Saturday after he sprained his ankle during training on Wednesday.
"He fell on a team-mate's foot. He's getting treatment and we'll see how the injury progresses," said Poitiers head coach Ruddy Nelhomme.
"The physio says it's not a bad sprain but we'll let him rest and get him back on Friday."
