MUNICH (2010 FIBA World Championship for Women) – France’s Sandrine Gruda will arrive at the 2010 FIBA World Championship for Women in the Czech Republic as the top player on the continent.

The UMMC Ekaterinburg star has been voted FIBA Europe Women’s Player of the Year after leading Les Bleues to the gold medal at last year’s EuroBasket in Latvia.

A player who has finesse, power and a silky-smooth jump shot, Gruda averaged 15.4 points and 7.7 rebounds per game at the EuroBasket.

The 22-year-old will lead France when they take on Team USA, Senegal and Greece in the Preliminary Round at the World Championship in Ostrava.
