Le Mans alone at the top
FRANCE (LNB PRO A) – Le Mans recorded their third win in a row as they held off Orléans 70-67 on Saturday to take sole possession of first place.
J.P. Batista scored a game-high 17 points and grabbed seven rebounds while Antoine Diot chipped in with 10 points and eight assists for the home side.
Meanwhile, a buzzer-beating three-pointer by Derrick Obasohan saw Hyères-Toulon stun Cholet 87-86 and deny the latter the chance to share top spot with Le Mans. Randal Falker put the visitors up 86-84 and they thought they had it won, only for Obasohan to bury his fifth basket from beyond the arc. The forward made five of six attempts from long-range on the night to finish with 21 points. His team-mate Pierre Pierce led all scorers with 22.
Three-point accuracy was also the name of the game as Jeff Greer made eight of 11 attempts for 28 points to lead fourth-place Sluc Nancy to a 95-77 defeat of Strasbourg. Marcus Slaughter had a monster game with 18 points and 19 rebounds for the winners.
