Elan Chalon/Saône (LNB) had the pressure of winning the first basketball trophy in the city’s history and delivered big style on Sunday by overcoming Limoges to capture the Coupe de France.

Gregor Beugnot's men trailed at half-time but used a 12-6 run in the first five minutes of the third quarter as a launch pad for 79-71 victory.

Chalon had nearly won the Semaine des As earlier this season but fell to Gravelines Dunkerque.

On Sunday, Blake Schilb had 26 points and Alade Aminu 17 with nine rebounds for Chalon.

"There was a lot of pressure," Beugnot said.

    "Everyone saw us as favorites.

"The aim before the game was to remove the pressure.

"This is the first trophy of the club, the whole town was waiting for this. The club has been rewarded for its approach."
