PARIS (Coupe de France) - Holders JDA Dijon crashed out of the Coupe de France following an 84-75 away defeat to BCM Gravelines.

In a match-up between the last two winners of the tournament, Gravelines started strongly and established a healthy 35-18 lead by the 14th minute.

Although Dijon were able to pull the deficit back to just five points in the final quarter, the hosts eased away to record an ultimately comfortable win.

"We lost our trophy," said Dijon coach Jacques Monclar. "In defense, we totally failed on the wings and Gravelines were red-hot in this department."

Pro B side Quimper were unable to repeat their heroics of the last 32 and slipped to an 88-58 defeat to top-flight Pau-Orthez on Wednesday night.

Having dispatched Le Mans in the previous round, Quimper were hoping for another coup, but Gordon Herbert's team proved to be too strong.

Other winners on Wednesday were Strasbourg, Cholet and Pro B side Nanterre, who overcame Adecco ASVEL, Paris Basket and Le Portel respectively.

The quintet join Clermont, Antibes and Chalon in the quarter-finals.
