SAN ANTONIO (2010 FIBA World Championship) - The San Antonio Spurs are breathing a sigh of relief following an MRI on Tony Parker's hip.
The France point guard has a mild strain and is listed as day-to-day by the Spurs.
Parker began to experience pain in a game against the Los Angeles Lakers on February 8 and didn't play until nine days later.
He sat out Sunday’s game against Detroit.
The 27-year-old has had a rough season on the injury front.
He's had sprained ankles, plantar fasciitis in his left foot and most recently the hip problem.
Parker is averaging 16.8 points and 5.9 assists per game.
France are hoping that Parker will represent the country at the 2010 FIBA World Championship in Turkey.
Another Spurs player, big man Matt Bonner, is hoping to play for Canada.
The 29-year-old broke his hand in December but has returned to the line-up.
Turkey's revelation of last summer, center Omer Asik, is currently out of action with a shoulder injury.
He wasn't able to play for Fenerbahce Ulker on Sunday when they defeated Mersin Büyüksehir Belediyesi to lift the Turkish Cup trophy for the first time since 1967.
Brazil’s Tiago Splitter is also out of action with a left ankle injury.
He is expected to be sidelined for up to three weeks.
